Diet: Carnivorous Period: Upper Cretaceous Meaning: Tyrant Lizard king
Fun Facts:Tyrannosaurus Rex had 50 saw-edged, pointed teeth up to 25cm in length.
The skin was the same texture as an alligator, but the colour is unknown. Measures 18 x 8cm.

Fun Facts: Pteranodon had a long bony skull crest, which may have been used for stability in flight or as a rudder. It had a toothless beak, like the birds of today. Measures 16 x 2.5cm.

Fun Facts: It had a distinctive alternating double row of plates down its back and tail.
These would have stiffened the tail which was also armed with four large spikes. Measures 16 x 8.5cm.

Fun Facts: Velociraptor had long hands with eagle-like talons, and each foot was equipped with a curved killing claw, which it used for puncturing its victims’ throats.
Velociraptor had a covering of feathers, probably both for insulation and for sexual display. Measures 10 x 6.5cm.

Fun Facts: The mouth was equipped with a horny beak and the heavy neck shield was of solid bone. Triceratops probably used its armour mostly in mating contests, but it would also have afforded some protection against attack from giant meat-eating dinosaurs. Measures 18.5 x 8cm.

Fun Facts: The male Parasaurolophus’ head carried a long curving and hollow crest thought to be used for both making a trumpeting sound and as a symbol of recognition. The female’s crest was shorter and more curving. Measures 9.5 x 10.1cm.

Fun Facts: Heavily armoured body with a reddish-brown colour. Lighter colour underneath. The fossil is possibly the best preserved ever discovered. Measures 15 x 4.5cm.
